Dr. Basma Hassan Saad is a highly accomplished academic and researcher serving as an Assistant Professor at the Rural Development Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University, Egypt, where she has made significant contributions to the advancement of sustainable development and rural policy innovation. Holding a Ph.D. in Rural Development from Alexandria University, her doctoral research specialized in Development Studies, Governance and Policy Analysis, and Social and Economic Modelling. She also earned her M.S. in Rural Development and B.S. in Rural Sociology from the same institution, establishing a strong academic foundation in sustainable rural and agricultural systems. Throughout her professional career, Dr. Basma Hassan Saad has held several leadership and coordination roles, including Coordinator of the Agricultural Social and Economic Sciences Program, Coordinator of the Quality Assurance Unit, and Coordinator of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture. Her international exposure includes a Visiting Fellowship at the National Center for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM), Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis, University of Canberra, Australia, where she deepened her understanding of evidence-based governance and social policy design. Her research interests encompass sustainable rural development, governance, environmental sociology, social institutions, and socio-economic policy modelling, with a focus on rural transformation, climate resilience, and institutional capacity building. Dr. Saad’s research skills are well-demonstrated through her expertise in statistical and econometric software such as SPSS, STATA, E-VIEWS, and GraphPad Prism, enabling her to perform advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses. Her works have been published in peer-reviewed and indexed journals recognized by Scopus and Google Scholar, contributing valuable insights to the global academic community. Among her academic recognitions, she received the Professor Salah Alabd Prize for academic excellence in Rural Development and the First Place Prize in Basketball among Egyptian universities, reflecting her excellence both in academia and extracurricular activities. She is actively involved in institutional development and sustainability initiatives within her university and beyond.
