Michel Jourlin is an Emeritus Professor at the Hubert Curien Laboratory (UMR CNRS 5516) at Jean Monnet University in Saint-Etienne, France. His academic career began as a senior lecturer at Jean Monnet University, where he established the Image Processing team at the TSI Laboratory, now part of the Hubert Curien Laboratory. In 1988, he became the head of the Electronics and Image Department at ICPI in Lyon and later, following the merger of ICPI and ESCIL to form CPE-Lyon, he served as the Scientific Director and head of the Electronics, Telecoms, and Computing section. He was instrumental in creating the LISA Laboratory (Image, Signal, and Acoustics), a CNRS-recognized research unit.
